Players: 4 players + 1 Goalkeeper

Playing area:

Zone 1: 2 Defenders

Zone 2: 2 Attackers

What you’ll need: Cones, balls, bibs and a goal

Exercise description:

  1. Players will be 1v1 in each zone.
  2. Goalkeeper kicks the ball to the zone 2.
  3. Defenders in zone 2 fight for the ball to head clear to zone 1
  4. Attackers in zone 1 battle to win the ball and have 1 chance to score

Improvements:

  • Fighting for possession
  • Turning quickly with the ball to the goal
  • Shooting quickly

Try to avoid:

  • Passive defence
  • Crossing into the other zone
  • Expecting the opponent to win the ball
