Goalkeeper Glove Wash

We highly recommend that all goalkeepers have a goalkeeper towel, a bottle of goalkeeper glove wash at least two pairs of gloves. One pair that is only used for games and one pair that is used for practice and warm ups. Once your game gloves begin to wear out, you can relegate them to being your new practice gloves and purchase a brand new pair for games. It is important to keep your gloves damp with a goalkeeper towel close while playing and use goalkeeper glove wash after each use. When your gloves get dirty, the palms will lose their grip and the ball will start to act like sand paper on them. This can cause the palms and fingers to wear out very quickly. It is important to get the dirt out of your gloves as quickly as possible after their use with dedicated goalkeeper glove wash. Sweat can also have an adverse effect on your gloves. Not only will they begin to smell, fungus and bacteria can begin to grow inside the latex. This can cause the latex to become brittle and flaky. The do's Do have two pairs of gloves, one for training and one for matches. Do moisten your gloves before playing. It will improve the grip and durability. Do get gloves that fit properly. Gloves that are too big will wear out faster. Gloves that are too small will rip at the seams. Do use goalkeeper glove wash after every game and practice. Do relegate old match gloves to practice gloves when they start to wear out. The don'ts Don't place gloves in direct sunlight, on a heater or tumble dry to dry them. This will destroy the palms of the gloves. Don't spit on your gloves to moisten them. This will spread germs and cause bacteria to grow in the palms of your gloves. Don't store your gloves for any period unless they have been cleaned with goalkeeper glove wash first. Don't store them palm to palm when drying this will make them stick together and tear when parting. We recommend that you buy a good goalkeeper glove wash which has a mild detergent, regular washing and cleaning will pre-long the life of the gloves. Use the goalkeeper glove wash in a spray bottle, this has a key benefit. You use less as the spray allows you to apply it directly to the areas where it is needed most. Keep your gloves in a good quality glove bag and store in a cool dry place, not in a kit bag dropped in the shed or boot of a car! A goalkeeper towel is also a good idea to store at the back of the net to wipe of excess water and mud on match days.
